On December 4, Amraz Ltd., one of Israel’s leading manufacturers of plastic preforms, closures, and foils, hosted His Excellency Tesfaye Yetayeh, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Israel, at their cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Had-Halom, Israel. The visit marked a significant step toward fostering technological collaboration and exploring avenues for partnership between Africa and Amraz Ltd. This visit comes on the track of a similar visit by Rwanda’s Deputy Ambassador to Israel, Niyirora Gashegu in November.
The tour, coordinated by ShareLovv International CEO Tobi Lovv, highlighted the state-of-the-art innovations at Amraz, showcasing their commitment to excellence in manufacturing solutions for packaging materials including PET and rPET. The Ambassador, accompanied by members of his team, was welcomed warmly and given an in-depth demonstration of the processes and advanced machinery, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.

A Firsthand Glimpse Into Innovation
During the tour, Ambassador Yetayeh expressed his amazement at the level of automation and technological sophistication within the facility. Reflecting on the experience, he remarked: “This is amazing. For someone like me, who spends most of the time reading and writing, witnessing this in real life feels like stepping into a movie. The robots, the precision, and the sheer efficiency of the operations were eye-opening.”
The Ambassador likened the visit to bridging the gap between theory and reality, underscoring how theoretical knowledge about concepts like Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things comes alive through such technological applications.
The Ethiopian Perspective on Technology and Growth
Ambassador Yetayeh emphasized the relevance of Amraz’s technology to Ethiopia’s growing economy and urbanizing population of over 125 million. He noted: “Bottled water, milk, soda—these are no longer luxuries but necessities in modern life. For Ethiopia, having access to such advanced production methods is crucial for meeting the needs of a growing and evolving population.”
The Ambassador also shared insights about Ethiopia’s trade routes and logistical challenges, especially in light of geopolitical tensions affecting shipping lanes. He underscored the importance of knowledge transfer and the potential for Ethiopia to integrate such technologies into its industrial landscape, whether through direct partnerships or local installations of similar factories.
A Shared Vision for Collaboration
Amraz’s Business Development Manager, Moshe Dayan, aptly framed the company’s mission as fostering an “Internet of People,” where collaboration and shared expertise pave the way for groundbreaking innovations. Ambassador Yetayeh echoed this sentiment, committing to advocate for increased partnerships between Ethiopian enterprises and Amraz Ltd.
“This visit is just the beginning,” the Ambassador said. “We will work toward building partnerships, transferring knowledge, and realizing a shared vision for technological advancement.”

Looking Ahead
The visit concluded with a warm exchange of ideas over coffee, with Ambassador Yetayeh thanking the Amraz team for their hospitality and their dedication to fostering meaningful dialogue. As discussions continue, the seeds of collaboration planted during this visit promise to bear fruit, advancing Ethiopia’s industrial capabilities while solidifying Amraz’s role as a leader in global manufacturing innovation.
Amraz Ltd. is proud to play a part in strengthening ties between Ethiopia and Israel, and they look forward to many more such engagements that bridge industries and nations.
